It's one thing to fail to meet essay deadlines due to other school activities, but it's another to fail to meet essay deadlines just because you're lazy. Students have responsibilities to fulfill and one of that is meeting essay deadlines. But if you really think about it, there's nothing better than essay on time. Some students think it doesn't matter if they submit their essays a day or two later, or beyond the time cut-off. What matters is that they manage to submit their essay. But this is a rather contrived way of looking at thing.

Better late than never” should never be the philosophy of students. How are they going to learn if they just always turn out half-baked school requirements? Where's the learning in that?

Students act as if essay writing is rocket science that it's too hard for them to sit down and write a good one. But it's actually one of the easiest school requirment to accomplish. They do not need to scour in the library for hours in order to do research, something they do a lot for other school papers. In essays, they're just usually asked for their point of view on certain issues. This is why essays are assigned right after they watch a film in class or sometimes, after they read a book in English.

If they really want a simple formula in writing essays, here you go:

  • Make a thesis statement that would summarize your entire thoughts on the essay topic.

  • From this thesis statement, write an outline that you'll follow when writing the essay. It will serve as the backbone of your composition.

  • When writing, just follow the outline in order to create a coherent and cohesive essay.

  • Edit a couple of times.

Simple, right? If you put your mind into it, you can write a good essay in less than an hour. But procrastinate and it will take you forever.
